GOYA SAILS NEWS 09-

As you may know, sail designer Jason Diffin has joined the Goya Design Team. Jason's first task was to take the best of what Francisco had developed in the earlier sails,
examine the vision for the future, and integrate those characteristics in to the new 09 sails. Keith Teboul is also now sailing on Goya Sails and Jason work together with him
to develop a wave model (PVC window) to suit customers looking for a smooth and flexible feeling sail with incredible durability. Also new for 09 is a completely re-designed
freeride model called FXR, as well as new Kids Performance Sails and Trainer Sails. The teamwork, combined experience and common goals of all the Goya Sails Design
Team members will set the 2009 Goya Sails range as a reference on the worldwide sail market.

-PVC Wave (name not set yet): 2.7 - 3.0 - 3.3 - 3.7 - 4.0 - 4.2 - 4.5 - 4.7 - 5.0 - 5.3

Jason Comments-
" New for 2009, this pvc window, all x-ply body panel sail is the perfect choice for customers looking for a smooth feeling, quickly neutral wave type sail that is also built to
last.Designed to withstand the most grueling of what the ocean can deliver, this is the sail to choose if you want a sail that turns effortlessly, and allows you to sail for hours
without wearing you out. This is the sail of choice for Goya Sails team rider Keith Teboul. This sail is also the best choice for smaller sailors who like to sail in high wind.
The smallest sizes (2.7 - 3.7) have been tested extensively in the Gorge, as well as on ocean waves, and the feedback fom thee smaller
riders is always the same- "It was effortless and fun! Not twitchy, just smooth stable power".

-Wave 3D : 3.4 - 3.7 - 4.1 - 4.4 - 4.7 - 5.0 - 5.3 - 5.6 -6.2 - 6.8

Jason Comments-
"The Wave 3D 09 is a pure performance, pro level worldwide wave sail. The W3D delivers more power overall, and more power higher in the sail than the PVC window
wave sail. For 09, we have taken the best features and characteristics of the earlier model W3D sails and refined them in to a new direction- the power, lift and drive you
expect from a Goya W3D sail, but with a more balanced power point, and increased control in high wind. This wider wind range will give you added comfort, power and
confidence to really go for it wherever you sail. The W3D is constructed of all X-ply body panels for excellent durability. "

-FXR : 3.8 - 4.3 - 4.9 - 5.4 - 5.9 - 6.4 - 6.9 - 7.5 - 8.2 -9.0

Jason Comments-
"The FXR 2009 has been completely re-designed to give you the ultimate Freeride experience. Power, speed and effortless control are the defining features of the FXR sails.
Featuring 6 battens in the sizes up to 6.9, and 7 battens in the sizes 7.5, 8.2 and 9.0, the sail changes shape and outline throughout the size range to fit it's conditions
perfectly. Huge jumps, blazing speed and tight maneuvers are what the 6 batten sails are all about, and uncompromised speed, plenty of power and effortless handling
characterize the 7 batten models. All FXR sizes feature full x-ply body panel construction for excellent durability."

-Kid's performance: 2.5 - 3.0 - 3.5 - 4.0

Jason Comments-
"Pure performance for the Next Generation! There is no compromise in performance here- these sails are designed to take aspiring young sailors up to the next level.
This sail follows the design philosophy of the pvc wave sail- good power, smooth feeling, and effortless handling. First Jibes, first bottom turns, first loops are all possible
on the new Kids Performance sails. All x-ply body panel construction, pvc window. Kid's boom, mast and bases are available to complete the rig."

-Surf Trainer sails: 1.5 - 2.0 - 2.5 - 3.0 - 3.5 - 4.0

Jason Comments-
"The Surf Trainer sail is the perfect match for the Surf Beginner trainer board. Easy up hauling, large viewing window, and easy smooth feel are the defining characterstics
of these sails. The Surf Trainer sails are built to withstand the rigors of learning- all Dacron body panels and pvc window makes the sail light, but incredibly durable for
endless hours washing in the shore break, dragging along the sand, and withstanding the impact of knees and elbows. Bright colors and eye catching design make this sail
a fun tool for the learning process."

- GOYA SAILS Graphic Design 2009 -

Graphic Designer Bjoern Zwedlick has worked closely with Technical Designer Jason Diffin to create an exciting new look for the sails for 2009. Form must follow function,
and function was the primary inspiration for creating the look of the new sails. We are excited to announce the introduction of two new x-ply colors- bright aqua and rich
raspberry. By introducing this new color element, we are creating a more recognizable product. The sails will be easier to spot on the water which makes them safer for
the sailor. The colored x-ply also has a better U.V. resistance, so the sails will last longer. The panel layouts for 09 are keeping with the Goya tradition of simple, but
functional, and definitely stylish. All seams serve a purpose and by combining the experience of Sailmaking knowledge, and a fresh new look, we super stoked about these
new 2009 designs!

bueno, saludos
ele
