Sultanate of Freestyle
Masirah Island, Oman, is well known for its wave spots, mainly Khasit (as a matter of fact the new wave video will come soon)...
This "flat" spot is on the western coast, facing Oman, whilst the wave spots are on the eastern coast, facing India.
This spot has been discovered a couple of years ago and this year it saved our vacation, as during the month of august waves weren't so good ( just 3 day "good", the rest was hard to define...) and luckily Mattia took also the freestyle board in Oman.
In case of lack of wind on the rest of the island this spot can make the differenece thanks to its thermic wind, so if in Ras Hilf you have 5 knots here you'll get 15-18 knots, and 30 knots it's easy to get in a normal day.
Moreover, as you can see it's absolutely uncrowded, very good for freeride and salom too, warm and shallow water, no rocks, very safe bay, nice colours Fuerte-like, no need of a 4x4, no kiters because a couple of km downwind there's a hostel/barrack just for kitesurfers: what else could you desire?
You come here in the morning, then in the afternoon you go to Khasit hoping for a double-session...
