Spots In the neighbourhood of Valencia

Hello!

Nice to meet you guys on this forum. It's looking really great..

Let me introduce myself; I am Thomas Ost, 21 years old, living in Belgium, near to Brussels... The next year I will be studying in Valencia for a year. At this moment, I do not speak Spanish very well yet, that's why I am writing this in English. So excuse me for that! But I hope that some of you understand what I'm writing and hopefully you'll can help me...
As my hobby is windsurfing too, I would like to go windsurfing a lot the next year in Valencia. I have already been searching on the web for some spots in the neighbourhood of Valencia and I found some, but I still had some questions..

Do some of you guys live in Valencia? Where do you guys go windsurfing most often? Can you surf there often (how many times a month?)?
Are these spots far from Valencia city?

I read about some spots where there is a thermal wind. Apparantly, they only exist in the summer. Which months do they mean by "summer"? Is it possible to navigate there to in spring? I hope so..

Something else that I was wondering; is It also possible to surf on the waves in Valencia? (so I don't mean windsurfing..) Do some you have experience with that?
