16:26 Hayward with a really smooth one-handed cutback which he backs up with another hit. Franchini selects a good wave but it doesn't quite work out for him. Ray with a couple of aerials and a frontside smack on one wave, best wave of the heat so far.Hayward with another solid wave consisting of three really smooth turns.

16:17 Stone with another solid wave as he opens with a pacey bottom and top turn combo before pulling a tweaked air.Juban with one decent top turn off the lip. Stone lines up for a massive goiter, but can't quite pull it off. Juban finishes the heat with a smooth aerial.

16:10 Nice tweaked aerial from Stone, Denel behind him combines three solid hits. Juban with a couple of turns, which Stone follows suit with.

16:01 Hauser launches into another aerial. Festa goes down on his bottom turn and he's having to swim for his kit now. Jason Stone links a nice first turn but then goes down.

15:45 Pritchard floats over the section which he follows up with two more hacks. Henderson connects three solid turns on a smaller wave. Pritchard goes for a frontside 360 but he doesn't quite make it.

15:29 Apologies for the lack of updates in the last 25 minutes, we were having a few technical issues, but all sorted now. Talma, Archer, Beaux and Spanu have just sailed a very tight heat. The wind is starting to swing more offshore making the conditions very challenging now.

14:33 Brown with a nice opening turn but hits his second turn a little late and goes down. Metcalf-Perez picks up a wave high upwind and throws a big aerial. Brown with an aggressive hack.

14:24 Franchini with a solid aerial off a nice section. Nice one-handed aerial from Beaux which he backs up with a decent turn. Porcella with a fluid bottom turn into a snappy top turn. Beaux connects five turns on a good sized waved . Porcella off the lip on probably his best wave of the heat. That's the end of the first round of the AWT Pro's, second round coming up.

14:17 Beaux tries opening with a massive aerial, but unfortunately he can't quite make it Beaux with a couple of small hits and finishes with a nice aerial. Franchini with three turns before falling at the end. Porcella with a good aerial. Beaux agonizingly close to claiming a frontside 3.

14:08 Noireaux winds up for a powerful taka, but just falls out the back of the wave.Noireaux with a nice opening turn and a sick one-handed aerial on his next wave he slides through two consecutive takas.
14:01 Noireaux with a big initial hit. Talma selects a nice wave but after his first turn he can't quite get round the next section.

13:52 Ezzy with a nice foam climb and backs it up with a vertical hack. Perfect pushloop from Ezzy, it won't count but perfectly executed still. Juban links a few fluid turns. Bitoun just coming back into the competition area after losing his equipment.Super stylish one-handed top-turn from Ezzy who is putting on one of the performances of the day thus far.
13:45 Ezzy with the best move of the day so far with a perfect goiter. Ezzy with a vertical top turn before sliding through a super stalled taka. Juban links together a few nice hacks. Juban narrowly avoids the rocks after going down. Ezzy with a very late aerial!

13:36 Loffreda with a nice aerial, but then the wave closes out on him. The wind seems to be picking up at the moment. Sailors on 4.5/7s-5.3. Dudet with his best wave of the heat so far, several multiple hits.
Results Heat 10 - 1st Miller 2nd Metcalf-Perez 3rd Henderson. Best wave separated Miller and Metcalf-Perez, after finishing the heat tied.

13:29 Stone goes for a tweaked air, but lands behind the wave.Dudet opens with a good first wave consisting of a couple of aggressive hacks. Loffreda with two frontside hits, before saving the best till last with a powerful hack on his third turn. Stone with a smooth opening turn, but a little late on his second hit.

13:20 Miller with a nice vertical foam climb, but then goes out the back. Nice tweaked aerial from Miller after quickly tacking onto the wave. Miller with another nice aerial, whilst Lee links a couple of turns on a smaller wave.
13:13 Lee opens with three hacks and then manages to connect four fluid turns on his second wave.

13:04 Aiken tacks out on the inside as it briefly goes flat. Metcalf-Perez with a late hit.

Good morning and welcome to the inaugural day of the 2013 JP Aloha Classic, which is taking place for the first time in seven years. The good news is that the recent wind drought ise over and we have a good swell running too. The competition is beginning with the AWT Pro fleet. Watch all the action live on the PWA TV here.
